Why choose Pro if Recursive is free?
Free gives you the complete local workspace. Pro gives those local agents cloud-like reach without moving them to cloud compute: check running work, approve requests, start sessions remotely, and keep projects synced across your devices.
How does annual billing work?
Annual Pro is billed once at $99 per year. That saves $45 compared with paying $12 each month — a little over 30%.
What exactly does Pro unlock?
Everything in Recursive runs free and unlimited on your machine. Pro is for when you walk away from it: an end-to-end encrypted tunnel lets you check on running agents, approve permission requests, and start new sessions from your phone or any other device, with your workspaces synced across up to 5 machines. Pro also includes beta builds and custom themes.
Do I have to pay for commercial use?
No. You are not required to pay to use Recursive for work, however if your organization relies on Recursive we encourage you to get in touch about Teams to keep Recursive independent and 100% user-supported.
What is your refund policy?
Subscriptions are non-refundable, so please make sure Recursive meets your needs before purchasing — the full product runs free on your machine, so you can try everything except Pro's remote features first. You can cancel anytime; you keep access through the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again.
How do I get my license key?
After checkout we email your license key from license@recursive.computer — there's no account, the key is your credential. Paste it into Settings → License to activate. Lost it? Recover your license and we'll resend it to the email you used at checkout.
Do you store, access, or process user data?
Recursive runs locally on your machine. Your code, sessions, and project data never leave your device unless you explicitly use Pro's remote access, which is secured with end-to-end encryption.
